Precision Weight for Calibration, Class M1
Precision weight of class M1, is made of A3 steel, suitable for commercial and industrial balances in Class III, has a maximum resolution of 10000 d. and a tolerance ranging from ± 1.0 to ± 1000.0 mg. It is packed in an individual storage box.
The weights are used for weighing with mechanical balances and more frequently for adjusting and testing electronic balances. The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has defined exactly and worldwide the metrological requirements that weights subject to verification must meet. These requirements are laid down in OIML Standard R111, which covers, among other things, the accuracy, raw materials, geometric form, identification, and storage of weights. Thus, according to the OIML, a number of highly hierarchical tolerance classes have been established, each of which has a maximum permissible error (in ± mg) during manufacture.
