115 mm porcelain mortar hand, JIPO

A porcelain mortar and pestle is a laboratory instrument used for grinding, mixing and crushing substances. It is often used to grind solid materials into a powder or paste.
The mortar is a bowl, usually made of hard porcelain, and the pestle is a heavy stick-like object, usually made of the same material.
The pestle is used to grind the material against the walls and bottom of the mortar. This grinding action is used to break down the material into a powder or by adding a liquid substance into a paste.

This mortar hand is made of JIPO laboratory porcelain and meets the parameters required by ISO/TC 48 standards.
Its high quality, good chemical and heat resistance corresponds to the requirements of CSN EN 1183 and CSN ISO 1775.
The composition of clay, quartz and feldspar ensures a high softening temperature, which makes it possible to work with unglazed articles up to 2,462 °F (ca. 1,350 °C) and with glazed articles up to 1,832 °F (ca. 1,000 °C).
The crystal composition 3AL²O³ 2SiO² ensures high mechanical strength and low longitudinal thermal dilatability of the porcelain.
The dimensions of the product are controlled by DIN 40680.
