Glass Base with 50/42 female ground joint, with filtering plate and vacuum outlet. Spare part for filtration equipment with 47 mm diameter membrane.
Filtration - separation
Filtration is the separation of suspended solids in a fluid (liquid or gas) by means of a filter. This process can be carried out simply by using the force of gravity and is identified as filtration by gravity or through laboratory equipment and through a vacuum circuit or vacuum filtration.
One of the basic laboratory processes is vacuum filtration and depending on the technical characteristics of the filter will allow the retention of a larger size of solids.
Membrane filters retain particles according to their degree of pore which is measured in microns (µm). One micron equals one thousandth of a millimeter: 1 µm = 0.001 mm.
Microfiltration is carried out using laboratory equipment with a vacuum circuit and filters that hold micron values.
Microfiltration equipment will consist of the following pieces in order of placement from bottom to top in the case that the filtration equipment is made of glass:
Conical glass flask with ground-glass male mouth: for the collection of liquids.
Base with porous plate and olive: to place the membrane filters and connect the inlet rubber tube to make the vacuum circuit.
Membrane filter: for filtration
Clamp: for clamping the funnel with the filter base
Funnel: where the fluid to be filtered will be dumped
Depending on the type of flask mouth, the instruments are joined by ground-glass or rubber stopper.
See in the accessory: elements to form a complete filtration system of glass with membrane filter.
