Glass Büchner Funnels with Filtration Plate

Glass Büchner funnels are essential in laboratories for performing efficient filtrations using vacuum techniques. These funnels are designed to facilitate the separation of solid-liquid mixtures, optimizing both time and process efficiency.

    • Varied Capacities: Available in multiple configurations to suit your specific needs.
    • Pore Grade: Ranging from 0 to 4, allowing a wide range of porosities depending on the particle size to be filtered.
    • Plate Diameter: Designed to offer stability and efficiency during the filtration process.

Vacuum Filtration Technique

Vacuum filtration is an advanced method that significantly accelerates the required time compared to gravity filtration. This procedure involves the following steps:

  1. Place a filter paper at the bottom of the Büchner funnel.
  2. Position the funnel over a Kitasato flask, using a rubber cone as an adapter to ensure an airtight seal and prevent leaks.
  3. Add the mixture to the funnel and apply a vacuum pump. The solid will be trapped in the filter, while the liquid will pass into the flask.

Available Accessories: We offer rubber cones and flasks as additional accessories to complete your laboratory setup.

Approximate Porosity Values

    • Pore 0: 160 - 250 microns
    • Pore 1: 100 - 160 microns
    • Pore 2: 40 - 100 microns
    • Pore 3: 16 - 40 microns
    • Pore 4: 10 - 16 microns
