Vacuum Filtration Technique
Vacuum filtration is an advanced method that significantly accelerates the required time compared to gravity filtration. This procedure involves the following steps:
- Place a filter paper at the bottom of the Büchner funnel.
- Position the funnel over a Kitasato flask, using a rubber cone as an adapter to ensure an airtight seal and prevent leaks.
- Add the mixture to the funnel and apply a vacuum pump. The solid will be trapped in the filter, while the liquid will pass into the flask.
