Capillary tubes for melting point determination

Capillary tubes are used to hold small quantities of sample during melting point determination. They are suitable for testing fats and other solid substances, allowing changes in the sample to be observed as the temperature increases.

Their narrow diameter makes it possible to work with very small quantities of material and to visually follow the melting process during heating.

They are manufactured from soda-lime glass, feature square-cut ends and have one open end and one closed end. Designed for single use, they are 80 mm long, with an external diameter of 1.5 mm and an internal diameter of 1.2 mm.

The dimensional tolerance is ± 1 mm for length and ± 0.05 mm for diameter. Supplied in a case containing 100 units. Marienfeld Superior.
