10 ml Glass Weighing Spoon
The glass weighing scoop is a transparent borosilicate vessel specifically designed for accurately weighing and transferring small quantities of solid samples. Its smooth inner surface prevents materials from sticking, allowing complete recovery of the sample. The design ensures comfortable handling during dosing and a controlled pour into other containers, avoiding spillage or contamination.
Use of the laboratory weighing scoop
For reliable results, the weighing boat must be clean and completely dry before each use. Place it on the balance after performing the tare function to ensure an accurate measurement of the solid.
Add the material carefully into the base of the boat until reaching the required amount. Once weighed, orient the spout towards the final container and pour the contents using gravity, tapping gently to help the solid pass through the neck. If the procedure allows, the transfer can be assisted by rinsing with a suitable diluent to remove any remaining particles and ensure complete transfer.
Using this accessory minimises cross-contamination as it prevents returning any surplus product to the original container, maintaining sample integrity and analytical reliability.
