Kjeldahl anti-splash adapter with trap bulb and ground glass joints

The Kjeldahl anti-splash adapter is a glass component designed for distillation and boiling assemblies in the laboratory, where it is important to limit the carry-over of foam, bubbles or splashes towards the upper parts of the apparatus. Its trap bulb acts as an intermediate retention chamber, helping to contain projections from the solution and promoting cleaner, safer working conditions during the process.

It is normally fitted between the flask and the condenser as part of assemblies requiring a precise, leak-tight connection between the different glass components. This configuration is particularly useful in procedures with a tendency towards irregular boiling or foam formation, as it helps protect the rest of the system and improves control of the operation.

It is made of borosilicate glass 3.3, a material widely used in laboratories for its chemical and thermal resistance. It incorporates standard ground glass joints, with male and female connections, allowing simple and secure integration into modular assemblies. To secure the joint and maintain stable fastening during use, it is recommended to use the appropriate clip according to the joint size; this can be found in the accessories section.

Available in versions with 14/23 and 29/32 ground glass joints, this accessory is suitable for different assembly configurations and laboratory requirements. It is used in Kjeldahl apparatus and in other laboratory set-ups where it is advisable to prevent the direct passage of splashes or carry-over from the reaction vessel to the condenser or other connected components.

These standard ground glass joints facilitate compatibility with other components using the same connection size, while maintaining the stability and tightness of the assembly during use. It can also be integrated into laboratory configurations involving accessories such as thermometer adapters or vacuum connections, depending on the intended set-up.
