Accessories for Glass Desiccators

Glass desiccators are essential laboratory instruments designed for drying processes and moisture removal in various substances. These processes can be conducted using moisture-absorbing chemicals or through a vacuum system.

Our desiccators are made from borosilicate glass 3.3, known for its excellent chemical resistance. This material is resistant to water, saline solutions, acids, bases, and organic solvents. However, it can be affected by hydrofluoric acid and, at high temperatures, by strong bases and phosphoric acid.

• SiO₂: 80.6% (Silica)
• B₂O₃: 13% (Boron oxide)
• Al₂O₃: 2.40% (Aluminum oxide)
• Na₂O: 4% (Sodium oxide)
• K₂O: 1% (Potassium oxide)
• Fe₂O₃: 0.30% (Iron oxide)

Chemical Resistance of Borosilicate Glass 3.3.

• Hydrolytic according to DIN 12111 ISO 719: Class 1
• Acid resistance according to DIN 12116: Class 1
• Bases resistance according to DIN 52322 ISO 695: Class 2

Physical Properties of Borosilicate Glass 3.3.

• Coefficient of linear expansion: 3.3 x10⁻⁶/K
• Anneling temperature: 534º C
• Maximum working temperature: 500º C
