Refractometers for Salinity Measurement

Handheld salinity refractometers are portable, precise, lightweight and easy-to-handle optical instruments, designed to measure salinity, salt concentration or saline density in solutions. Their ergonomic design allows comfortable use both in the field and in the laboratory, without the need for regular maintenance or advanced technical knowledge. They feature Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) to ensure accurate results under varying environmental conditions. The robust metal body construction guarantees durability.

Supplied in a plastic case with pipettes for sample collection, protective cover, screwdriver, rubber eyecups, and rubber grip.

Basic Operating Instructions

  1. Calibration: Before each use, calibrate the refractometer with distilled water to ensure accurate measurements.
  2. Measurement: Place a few drops of the sample on the prism, close the cover, point the instrument towards a light source and read the value on the scale through the eyepiece.
  3. Cleaning: After measurement, clean the prism and cover with distilled water before drying and storing.
