Spherical Reactor Flask with Lid Featuring Five Ground-Glass Necks

The spherical reactor flask is an essential item for distillation, boiling and mixing substances. Its design provides uniform heating of the contents and makes it suitable for a range of laboratory set-ups requiring several connections on the upper part of the assembly.

Product characteristics

Spherical shape.
Its shape promotes even heat distribution and makes it suitable for processes in which regular heating of the contents is important.

Wide ground neck.
The vessel is made of borosilicate glass and features a wide ground neck with a flat rim, designed to ensure accurate fitting with the reactor lid. The inner neck diameter is 100 mm and the outer neck diameter is 150 mm.

Reactor lid.
The lid, also made of borosilicate glass, incorporates a flat ground base with a diameter of 100 mm. It includes five ground-glass necks, allowing a versatile and functional working configuration.

Closure.
The connection between the body and the lid is secured by means of a stainless steel clamp, providing firm and stable fastening during use.

Available capacities.
The assembly is available in 5 litre and 10 litre capacities, maintaining in both cases the same general configuration of neck, lid and ground connections.

Arrangement of necks in the lid

The lid incorporates one central neck with a standard ground-glass joint 29/32, one parallel neck 14/23 and three angled necks, two in 14/23 and one in 29/32.

More specifically, the arrangement includes one angled neck at 5° in 14/23, one angled neck at 10° in 14/23 and one angled neck at 15° in 29/32. This configuration facilitates the integration of different accessories and allows the set-up to be adapted to different experimental requirements while maintaining a compact and stable assembly.

Properties of Borosilicate 3.3 Glass

Borosilicate 3.3 glass is characterised by its high chemical resistance to water, saline solutions, acids, alkalis and organic solvents.

It is attacked only by hydrofluoric acid and, at elevated temperatures, by strong alkalis and phosphoric acid.

Thanks to these properties, this spherical reactor flask provides a reliable, resistant and versatile solution for laboratory work requiring safety and good chemical resistance.
