Box of 50 Soda-Lime Glass Microscope Slides
Soda-lime glass microscope slides are thin, transparent plates used in microscopy to support biological samples and other materials for analysis.
They should always be handled by the edges or with forceps, such as our reference model 471.0030 curved tweezers, avoiding contact with the working surface to prevent fingerprints or contamination.
Many models are autoclavable, allowing sterilisation prior to reuse. Cleaning is recommended with neutral detergent, rinsing with distilled water and a final wash with alcohol, ensuring a surface free of impurities and ready for precise observations.
Standard Ghäasel Slides
Ghäasel slides comply with ISO 8037 and are manufactured from high-quality soda-lime glass.
They have standard dimensions of 76 × 26 mm and an approximate thickness of 1.1 mm. They are supplied in boxes of 50 units, sealed in transparent cellophane for protection, with CE marking and batch number for full traceability.
This range has been developed for professionals working in human and animal biology. All models undergo a hydrophilic treatment that enhances cell adhesion and optimises the fixation of histological samples. This finish improves the preparation of blood smears, cytological samples and histological sections, both fresh and frozen, ensuring a uniform surface for reliable and reproducible microscopic observation.
The range includes different options according to laboratory needs: 90° or 45° edges, cut or polished borders for greater safety, and versions with or without a 20 mm frosted band on one or both sides for direct labelling and writing.
Trust the superior quality of Ghäasel slides to optimise your research and achieve precise results in every analysis.
Slides with Cavity
In addition to the standard models, a special slide is available in soda-lime glass with a central cavity, designed for the study of thick or suspended samples, as well as insects and minerals. Its dimensions are 76 × 26 mm with a thickness of 1.2 mm, and it has ground 90° edges for safe handling.
The cavity has a diameter of 15 mm and a depth of 0.6–0.8 mm, facilitating the microscopic observation of voluminous specimens. It is manufactured in China and comes with CE marking.
Large-Size Slides
Soda-lime glass slides are also available in extended dimensions of 50 × 76 mm, offered in two variants: with polished or cut edges. They have an approximate thickness of 1 mm with a tolerance of ± 0.05 mm, ensuring uniformity and accuracy in sample preparation.
These models are particularly suitable for mounting large samples or several tissue sections on a single slide, providing a larger working surface than standard formats. They are supplied with CE marking, guaranteeing compliance with European standards.
