Dropping Bottle for Reagents and Chemicals
Laboratory dropping bottle made of soda-lime glass, suitable for storing and dispensing reagents, acids and chemical formulations. It is available in amber glass for light-sensitive contents and in clear glass for easy visual inspection of the contents and fill level.
The dropping system operates by means of a small groove in the stopper and a corresponding groove in the bottle neck. When the two grooves are aligned and the bottle is tilted, air enters the container and the liquid is dispensed drop by drop, allowing the controlled addition of small quantities.
The glass dropping stopper fits into a 14/23 ground-glass joint. Its all-glass construction prevents the contents from coming into contact with plastic or metal components and makes it particularly suitable for handling compatible corrosive chemicals.
The glass provides good resistance to aqueous solutions, acids, alkalis and many organic compounds under normal laboratory conditions. It is not suitable for hydrofluoric acid, and contact with concentrated alkalis or phosphoric acid at elevated temperatures should be avoided. Chemical compatibility must be verified according to the substance, concentration, temperature and contact time.
