Analogue rotational viscometer, working range 10η to 100.000η
Ideal instrument for determining the average viscosity of various types of fluids such as edible oils, lubricants, paints, varnishes and food products, among others. For this purpose, it has 4 rotation speeds and is equipped with 4 spindles or rotors that allow the user to select the most suitable conditions according to the viscosity of the liquid to be analysed.
Thanks to its design, the viscometer is stable, efficient and comfortable to use.
The base has 3 threaded feet for perfect levelling of the equipment, while the solid column with rack and pinion system and the head clamp with screw and guide allow the head to be easily positioned at the desired height, ensuring good stability. In addition, the tilting device for clamping the spindle facilitates the work and increases the efficiency of the instrument.
The dimensions of the head are 260 mm x 140 mm x 320 mm, not including the stand.
The equipment is supplied in a sturdy metal case for easy transport and storage.
The following table shows the parameters to be taken into account according to the viscosity range (η) of the substance:
| Velocity (rpm) | Rotor n. 1 | Rotor n. 2 | Rotor n. 3 | Rotor n. 4 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 6 | 1,000 η | 5,000 η | 20,000 η | 100,000 η |
| 12 | 500 η | 2,500 η | 10,000 η | 50,000 η |
| 30 | 100 η | 1,000 η | 4,000 η | 20,000 η |
| 60 | 100 η | 500 η | 2,000 η | 100,000 η |
If you would like to add the special rotor for low densities, which is not included with the device: the rotor number 0 must be ordered together with the viscometer, as it must be calibrated.
How to choose the right rotor:
First, if you know the approximate viscosity range of the fluid to be measured and then select the appropriate speed and rotor for that range according to the table.
When the viscosity is difficult to predict, assume a high viscosity and try different rotors and speeds: i.e. from the largest to the smallest rotor, combining the lowest to the highest speed, until you find the most suitable combination for the viscosity of the fluid.
