Pressure-Sensitive Seals for Jars and Bottles
Pressure-sensitive seals are polystyrene foam discs with pressure-activated adhesive, designed to act as tamper-evident seals for jars and bottles with screw closures. They help reduce leaks and drips, limit the ingress of moisture and oxygen and provide visible evidence of opening once the cap has been removed.
No induction equipment or special machinery is required. For application, simply place the disc inside the cap with the printed side facing the closure, screw firmly onto the container and leave the container closed for several hours to achieve effective adhesion.
This system helps preserve the contents of pharmaceutical, food, cosmetic, chemical and laboratory packaging. The seals are single-use and must be discarded once removed.
For proper adhesion, the container opening must be clean, dry, smooth and free from product residues. They are recommended for dry products, granules, tablets, capsules and viscous liquids such as creams or sauces. They are not recommended for aqueous liquids or oils.
Available in 34 mm and 45 mm diameters, compatible with different models of wide-neck bottles and glass jars from our catalogue. The 34 mm seal is used with 60 ml and 120 ml wide-neck bottles and 15 ml and 30 ml glass jars. The 45 mm seal is suitable for 250 ml wide-neck bottles and 60 ml glass jars.
The effectiveness of the seal depends on the correct compatibility between the disc diameter, the cap used and the container opening.
