The handheld refractometer is a portable optical instrument designed to quickly and accurately measure parameters such as dissolved solids concentration, salinity percentage, saline density, or the refractive index in solutions. To take a measurement, simply place a small sample on the prism, close the cover, point the refractometer towards a light source, and observe the scale through the eyepiece.
