PTFE-Coated Magnetic Retrieval Rod for Stir Bars
Magnetic rod designed for the safe and efficient retrieval of magnetic stir bars in laboratory settings. This tool is essential for use with magnetic stirrers, enabling the recovery of stir bars without direct contact with the vessel’s contents.
Manufactured from high-strength polypropylene (PP) and fully coated with polytetrafluoroethylene or Teflon (PTFE), commonly known as Teflon, the rod provides excellent resistance to aggressive chemical agents as well as high thermal and mechanical stability. The Teflon coating is chemically inert, non-stick and ensures a long service life even in demanding conditions.
The tip of the rod houses a powerful neodymium magnet, capable of attracting and retrieving stir bars of various sizes, including larger models. Measuring 48 mm in length and 10 mm in diameter, the magnetic tip fits easily into narrow or deep containers without risk of contamination or splashing.
The rod has an overall length of 350 mm, making it suitable for use with tall beakers or flasks. Its upper end features an ergonomic loop, allowing the tool to be conveniently hung for storage or drying.
Heat resistance up to 275 °C allows use in high-temperature applications, autoclave sterilisation, and rigorous cleaning processes.
Main applications: retrieval of magnetic stir bars from beakers, flasks, and vessels containing liquid media used in stirring, mixing or dissolution processes. Suitable for use in chemical, biotechnological, pharmaceutical, and scientific research environments.
