Pressure-sensitive seals are self-sealing polystyrene foam discs designed to provide an airtight and secure closure for glass, plastic or metal containers with round screw necks. They incorporate a pressure-activated adhesive that engages when the cap is tightened and reaches maximum effectiveness after approximately 24 hours, offering a simple and reliable tamper-evident seal.

Features and Benefits

• No special equipment required: No induction machinery or heat-sealing devices are needed. Simply place the disc inside the cap (printed side facing the cap) and screw it firmly onto the container.
• Material and design: Polystyrene foam disc coated on one side with a pressure-sensitive adhesive; the non-adhesive side is printed and acts as a tamper-evident surface.

Usage Recommendations

• Suitable product types: Recommended for dry goods, granules, tablets, capsules and high-viscosity liquids such as creams or sauces. Not suitable for aqueous liquids or oils.
• Container preparation: Ensure the rim of the container is clean, smooth and dry before application. Cleaning with alcohol is recommended.
• Correct application: Place the disc inside the cap with the printed side facing the cap. Tighten firmly to activate the adhesive by pressure.
• Curing time: Do not remove the cap for at least 24 hours to ensure optimal adhesion.
• Filling level: Avoid overfilling containers to prevent interference with the sealing surface.
• Single use: Once removed from the container, the seal cannot be reused and must be discarded.
