Wide Brix range divided into three measurement scales

This handheld optical refractometer is designed to determine the concentration of soluble solids in liquid samples over a wide range of 0–90% Brix. The range is divided into three measurement scales:

• 0–42% Brix
• 42–71% Brix
• 71–90% Brix

This division allows samples with different concentration levels to be analysed without changing instruments. It offers an accuracy of 0.2% Brix and is suitable for rapid concentration checks in laboratories, production environments or field work.

In food applications, Brix measurement can be used to assess the concentration of soluble solids, mainly sugars, in fruit, juices, beverages, syrups or jams.

It is easy to use and requires no complex setup. To take a measurement, select the appropriate scale, place one or two drops of sample on the prism and point the refractometer towards a light source. The dioptre adjustment allows the focus to be adapted to the user, while the light inlet makes it easier to see the boundary line on the scale. Once the reading has been taken, remove the sample and carefully clean and dry the prism.

This model does not feature automatic temperature compensation (ATC). Temperature may affect the reading; when measurements are carried out at a temperature other than 20 °C, the corresponding correction can be applied using the table provided by the manufacturer.

Its optical design and portable format make it suitable for use in laboratories, directly in production areas or during field checks.

Supplied in a padded case with sampling pipettes, adjustment screwdriver and eyecup.
